RICARDO CORREA
Master Tier Instructor
Specialty: Argentine Tango
Ricardo’s dancing career began at nine when he joined a children's folk dance troupe that toured Mexico for three years. Seeking a better life, his parents moved to the United States, putting his love for dance on hold. Ricardo returned to dance in college, exploring classical ballet briefly while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in science. It was then that he found Argentine tango, which became a crucial outlet during his Ph.D. in theoretical physics. Ricardo’s passion for tango captured him and led him to Argentina numerous times, deepening his knowledge and love for the art.
In the US, Ricardo's tango expertise has made him a sought-after teacher and performer. He has taught and performed across the US and beyond. Additionally, Ricardo and his wife, Lindsey, have been featured at major festivals, including the Tucson Tango Festival, Tango On The Rocks, Windy City Tango Festival, Tango Maya, and many more. With over twenty years of experience in Argentine Tango and strong educational backgrounds (Lindsey holds an MS in psychology and Ricardo is a physics professor), they have developed an effective and engaging teaching style. As tango teachers, they cultivate confident dancers who dance comfortably and express themselves artistically. As performers, they aim to connect the audience to the beautiful intimacy of the tango embrace while projecting the elegant power of tango.
