Nope! The majority of our students attend classes without a partner. We rotate in our group classes so you’ll dance with everyone in the class, which gives you great practice at adjusting to different people's dance styles.
-
We recommend that couples rotate partners in group classes, as in our experience you’ll learn quicker when dancing with multiple partners. But if you’re not in the mood, just hug your partner during the rotation so others know to pass you by!

Shoes: Choose a shoe that is comfortable and will stay on your foot. Smooth soles are preferable. If you would like to invest in some dance shoes, we have a shop in the studio where you can try on different styles.
Attire: Our students come to class in everything from professional attire to jeans, workout clothes, and other casual styles.

Yes! Review all information on how to get started with practice here.
Will I get my own room? Typically not, practice will be in one of our shared ballrooms.
Can I reserve the small rooms? These rooms are reserved for private lessons at all times, but they may be used for practice if available.
Can I play my own music? You are welcome to play music from our system. However, if private lessons are happening in the room where you're practicing, they will have priority over the music played.
Where on the floor should I practice if there are multiple dancers? Follow typical dance floor etiquette; stationary dances in the center of the floor, traveling dances on the outside track traveling in a counter-clockwise direction.
If I reserve in advance, is my spot guaranteed? Occasionally things come up on short notice. In the event that your spot is not available we will contact you with as much notice as possible.
