Look great on your big day!
For those of you performing in Showcase this summer, here are some tips and timelines to ensure you look fabulous on the dance floor and in your photographs! Consult With Your InstructorBefore ordering, consult with your instructor about what type or style of costume would work best for your body type and your dance routine.
Order ASAP
Ideally, your costume should be in your hands at least 3 months before the big day. Once you get it, try it on and dance around. Be sure to have it tailored to ensure it fits like a glove—you don’t want a “wardrobe malfunction” on your big day!
Add Rhinestones
Schedule a consultation with Sarah to discuss a plan to add some stunning Swarovsky crystals (a.k.a. rhinestones) to your costume. They’ll take your photographs from flat to fabulous! Be sure to place the order asap as it can take up to 8 weeks for the stones to arrive. Then you need time to put them on!
Select Your Shoes
Shoes are an essential part of your costume. Ideally, you’ll wear a special pair of dressy performance shoes that don’t take the same beating your practice shoes take everyday. Visit our boutique if you need inspiration. Be sure to order your new shoes at least 8 weeks before the dress rehearsal so that you have plenty of time to practice in them.
Find Accessories
Be sure to think about the little things the audience will notice while you’re performing like undergarments, hairstyles, hair accessories, makeup and jewelry. Since you’ll want some time to practice wearing/using them, be sure to purchase them at least 4 weeks before dress rehearsal.
