Sam hails from Framingham, Massachusetts, lived in Florida for much of his childhood, and has called Austin home since 2015. As a kid, he was actively involved in circus arts and musical theater. During welcome week at Northeastern University in Boston, he attended a waltz class, and followed that up with a swing class where he fell in love with dance. Sam continued to dance socially and competitively throughout his time in college, and began teaching introductory classes for the university dance club.

“I love helping students go from a place of feeling awkward about dancing, to feeling comfortable and enjoying themselves!”

Sam loves that dancing helps keep people active, is a great way to meet people, and is an experience you can share with someone you just met even if you don’t even speak the same language! He enjoys working with beginners and helping them develop the skills and confidence to really enjoy dancing. A performer at heart, he also loves performing with his students in showcase and particularly loves doing routines where he can show his comedic side.

Off the dance floor, Sam enjoys exploring Austin’s nightlife and music scene, reading fantasy and science fiction, and continues to practice his juggling and other circus arts.
