Barbara-Lucke

Barbara is a native Texan and was raised in Richardson. She was an avid dancer from the start! She began taking Ballet and Tap classes at age four, and continued to dance Ballet and Jazz throughout high school. Once Barbara saw Salsa dancing at a Spanish Language Convention, she knew there was something unique and captivating about partner dancing. She has been partner dancing since 2004 and became a Go Dance instructor in 2009. In the Texas Salsa Open, Barbara won 2nd place with her partner (and fellow Go Dance Instructor) David Abril. She joined the Jazzy Dance Company and placed 3rd in the 2008 World Salsa Championships Team Division at the Puerto Rico Salsa Congress. Barbara loves the music and the character of Salsa. She combines a deep appreciation for Salsa with a passion for teaching. Barbara is always kind, effective, and focused in her instruction.

“I love being a part of the experience through which people discover their love for dance.”

Barbara is a combination of beauty, talent, and brains! She has a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering and a Professional Degree in Pharmacy. Her academic ability and talent with numbers translates well into her thorough, analytical teaching style. Barbara tries to approach teaching with encouragement, precision, patience, a positive attitude, and harmony. She believes in making dance fun, but also giving constructive critique. For Barbara, dance isn’t just physical, it’s also mental. Her excitement about dancing is contagious, and her light-hearted nature makes her students equally as excited. Barbara is a motivational, technical instructor who makes every student comfortable.
