Darren Paul was born and raised in the UK (hence, his great British accent)! He grew up in a military family where he was taught the importance of discipline and hard work. His upbringing has highly influenced his work ethic and clearly driven approach to both dancing and teaching.
Darren began line dancing at age 14. His passion for Country Western dancing, combined with seeing a video of the famous Latin dancer Bryan Watson, inspired him to pursue his competitive goals and enter the world of partner dancing. Since then, he's surrounded himself by some of the world's most qualified, motivated dancers. Darren always strives for the best and works hard to achieve his goals; his dance accomplishments and polished technique are a true reflection of his constant discipline and ambition.
In my lessons I strike a balance between the fun, entertaining guy my friends know, and the intense, serious about my artform dancer that I am. Fun and quality are both really important to me.After winning a United Country Western Dance Council World Championship in 2005 as an amateur, Darren decided it was time to pursue the professional track, and has been teaching at Go Dance since 2009. Darren combines technical prowess and fun when teaching his students. He is clear in his instruction, always patient, and will make sure his students really "get" the material. Darren enjoys seeing his students improve and isn't afraid to approach dancing with light-hearted humor, honesty, professionalism, and drive.
